Case / Lang / Veirs

Neko Case, k.d. lang, and Laura Veirs have announced a new collaborative album entitled case/lang/veirs. According to a press release, their partnership was born out of an email sent by lang to Case and Veirs, then merely acquaintances, simply reading, “I think we should make a record together.” As Case recalls, “Laura and I both responded immediately. There was no question.” case/lang/veirs, the product of this intriguing union, is the result of two and a half years spent writing and recording in lang and Veirs’ Portland homes. Produced by Tucker Martine, the album draws inspiration from “alluring, mysterious subjects” including but not limited to “a supermoon, the tumbledown story of 70s singer Judee Sill, and the ‘best kept secret’ in Silver Lake,” whatever that might be. It’ll be out in June, and the group will embark on an extensive North American tour in support of the release.
